The day dawned bright and clear, which was lucky for us as we had arranged to plant over 3,000 bulbs with all the children from the local School.
We had already been digging the previous night and prepared some of the holes, then we met up at 12.00pm to start again, we were as busy as beavers then until 4.00pm digging, planting and filling back in.
By the end of the day we were all exhausted and aching but we were happy with it, the children made a "backbreaking tedious chore" into a really very enjoyable experience.
As you can see from the pictures the children also enjoyed themselves and when spring has sprung we can all enjoy the brightness and colour that the new flowers will bring when the fruits of our labours are realised.
Saturday 27th October 12.00pm - 4.00pm 'Make a Difference'
This event was held as a fundraiser for the Friends Group in conjunction with St.Helens Youth 4 Volunteering.
There was face painting, willow weaving, graffiti art, tom bola, name the bear. a barbeque, basketball and football shoot out and much much more!
We had a good day, everyone who attended appeared to enjoy themselves and we have had good feedback. We raised £174 for our funds and as tiring as it was we can't wait to do another one.
