Sutton Park is a small (but perfectly formed) Park, standing at just over twenty acres.
It is almost 1/10th of the size of Sherdley Park but much loved by locals, as demonstrated with the
community spirit prevalant at the height of the car park dispute.
The park was originally owned by Colonel Michael Hughes as part of the Sherdley Estate.
SUTTON PARK is located close to the much larger Sherdley Park and is surrounded by Robins Lane,
Marina Avenue, Sutton Park Drive and Marshalls Cross Road. Access can be from any of these streets.
A number of buses from St.Helens town centre including the nos. 32, 32A and 35 stop in Robins
Lane just a few yards from entrances into Sutton Park.
Sutton Park is half a mile from Lea Green station and three quarters of a mile from St.Helens Junction
station. With St.Helens Central station just a short bus ride away.
There are also ample car parking facilities in the surrounding area.
There is good access into Sutton Park at the junction of Marina Avenue and Robins Lane.
Also at the main gates by the roundabout at the junction of Marshalls Cross Road and Robins Lane.
There is good accessibility on the tree-lined paths around the perimeter of Sutton Park.
